Pecan Pie

Makes 8-10 servings (9-inch pie)


1 cup Karo dark corn syrup
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecans, halved or chopped
1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell


  1. Mix together the first six ingredients, then stir in pecans.
  2. Pour into pastry shell.
  3. Bake in 400F oven for 15 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to 350F and bake 30-35 more minutes. The outer edge of the filling should be set, the center should be slightly soft.
  5. Arrange pecans on top of the filling.
